Who we are
Kominka North America’s principals, Billy Dillon and Adam Miller boast a wealth of collective experience in carpentry and the building trades. With a shared passion for high-quality craft, historic, traditional and innovative - each has traveled the world to learn from colleagues deeply engaged in regional carpentry cultures, from England and France to China, and from Sweden and Germany to Japan.
Billy began his career with an apprenticeship in the carpenters’ union before embarking on a 50 year career in residential and commercial high end construction. He has taught courses on stair building, Tangent Handrailing and Eyebrow Dormers, as well as, judged carpentry at SkillsUSA.
Adam’s mentors include founders and luminaries of the North American timber frame revival, and he has edited Timber Framing, the quarterly technical journal of the Timber Framer’s Guild, since 2018. More of Adam’s work and publications can be found at www.adammillercarpentry.com
